HAVOK “Conformicide” Album Review

I’m gonna write the review a little differently for this album. Havok’s new album Conformicide is such a great album, that I believe I need to write a review that goes into more depth than one of my normal posts.

Havok truly have something special, this is their fourth album, and they haven’t yet released a body of work that is considered “bad”.

Each album has technical talent, complex melodies, and most of all, effort, and creativity, something that is lost in some music today. And HAVOK’s new Album Conformicide tops the rest of their work.

It starts off with and interesting song, called “F.P.C”. While most metal albums start of with a fast, heavy, upbeat song, HAVOK decided to go a different route, and make a song that starts off slower and soft, but then goes into heavy fast riffs, and it gives the album a very big feeling.

After that HAVOK sends a pretty clear message with “Hang ’em High” about corruption, and greedy politicians, something that seems to plague the minds of people in this day and age. They continue to push themselves technically and creatively.

As the album goes on they don’t hold back, and the songs only get better. “Intention to Deceive” talks about problems with media and how it can influence how you think, then they come out with “Ingsoc”, their longest song on the album, and one of the most technical.

It keeps going with “Masterplan”, “Peace is in Pieces”, and “Claiming Certainty”. All of which display amazing musicianship and talent which rivals that of any metal music this decade.

Overall, HAVOK have created a perfect album, and something that will stand the test of time, And I am very proud to give this album my first perfect rating, if that means anything.

Final Rating 10/10
